Description:

This is a full-time role for a Lead Backend & Platform Engineer based in Ireland.
The salary range for this position is €92,000 - €110,000.
The role involves owning the technical implementation and scalability of the cloud infrastructure for the Digital Pathway Platform.
As the technical authority for the backend team, the engineer will ensure the platform is architected for seamless scalability across international health systems.
The position is pivotal in driving technical excellence and directly impacts the lives of millions of patients by enabling a new asynchronous and remote operating model for healthcare.
Responsibilities include leading the architecture, security, and stability of the GCP platform, managing a high-performance team of backend engineers, driving platform efficiency, architecting complex integrations, aligning technical execution with business objectives, refining engineering practices, and leading AI workflows.

Requirements:

Proven technical leadership experience as a Lead or Senior Engineer, ideally with experience managing scaling challenges in a high-growth startup.
Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Expert-level understanding of Node.js and TypeScript.
Comfortable architecting platforms that interact with diverse third-party APIs and robust authentication protocols.
A passion for mentoring and managing engineers.
