The company builds software for Airbnbs to facilitate self-renting, focusing on a state-of-the-art product and user experience.
The role is for a Core & Connectivity Product Engineer to maintain and improve the core platform and OTA connectivity.
The Core platform includes properties, calendar, messaging, metrics, operations, and guest experience, while the Connectivity component integrates with major online travel agencies.
The engineer will dive deep into the foundational codebase to develop new features, maintain existing features, and improve platform stability.
Responsibilities include knowing current OTA connections, implementing integrations with future partners, participating in product discussions, and building user-friendly experiences.
The position is remote-only and fully distributed, with a preference for candidates in European or American timezones.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on backend technologies.
Significant experience with Laravel, PHP 7+, MySQL, and testing pipelines in a deployed web application is required.
An eye for testable, maintainable, and intuitive code is essential, along with a customer and business value-oriented mindset.
The ability to think through complex systems and non-obvious usage scenarios is necessary.
High empathy towards customers and teammates, along with exceptional written communication skills, is required.
Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of making decisions in uncertain situations.
Experience with queue/job-centric backends and building production systems with third-party API data ingestion is a plus.
