Description:

  • As a Security Research Engineer at Maze, you will define real security risks in AI-powered vulnerability detection.
  • You will analyze cloud vulnerability findings from AI systems, conducting deep research to validate and contextualize threats.
  • Your role involves creating authoritative labels that train AI models to distinguish critical risks from noise.
  • You will lead high-volume vulnerability labeling and validation work, reviewing and categorizing cloud security findings.
  • You will translate patterns and insights from your research into actionable product improvements.
  • Collaboration with fellow Security Research Engineers is essential to maintain consistency in labeling standards and improve methodologies.
  • You will conduct comprehensive research into cloud vulnerabilities affecting EC2 images, Docker containers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Your responsibilities include creating detailed technical writeups about exploitation techniques and remediation strategies.
  • You will integrate insights from CVE databases and threat intelligence sources to enrich vulnerability findings.
  • You will support the company's external presence through technical blog posts, videos, and conference presentations.

Requirements:

  • You must have 5+ years of hands-on security experience with a proven vulnerability research background.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS security, cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities, and container security is required.
  • Strong coding and scripting abilities in Python, Go, or similar languages are necessary for automating research tasks.
  • You should have a proven ability to analyze complex security data and communicate findings to technical and business audiences.
  • Experience translating security insights into product requirements is essential.
  • You must have experience working with vulnerability databases and threat intelligence sources.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with peers and stakeholders are required.
  • Comfort with systematic labeling work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail is necessary.
  • Nice to haves include experience with AI/ML security, background at security tooling companies, and industry certifications.
