The Senior DevOps Engineer will take end-to-end responsibility for backend services and their operation, including architecture, implementation, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
Responsibilities include developing robust, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot, maintaining services in AWS, automating infrastructure with Terraform, and managing GitLab-CI pipelines for build, tests, security checks, and deployment.
The role involves analyzing system behavior, implementing observability, and continuously improving resilience and stability.
The engineer will drive technical standards and best practices in architecture, infrastructure, and operational processes while working closely with the team in an XP-like setup.

Requirements:

Candidates must have several years of experience in backend engineering, ideally with Java and Spring Boot.
A strong operations/SRE background is required, with a sense of responsibility for the operation of services.
Candidates should have solid experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and operational management of production-critical clusters.
Proficiency in AWS or other cloud providers and experience in independently implementing platform and infrastructure projects is necessary.
Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and consistent automation of infrastructure is required.
Experience in building and maintaining GitLab-CI pipelines and automated deployments is essential.
Candidates should understand modern service architecture concepts such as domain slicing, resilience, observability, and clean interfaces.
Strong teamwork skills, open communication, and a sense of responsibility for quality, operation, and development are important.
Good knowledge of German and English is required.
