Description:

Wurl, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and optimize high-concurrency Go services for their real-time advertising platform.
The company operates at a massive scale, handling over 100,000 OpenRTB requests per second with latency measured in single-digit milliseconds.
The role involves leading the design and implementation of complex features within the Go-based ad-serving stack, optimized for high throughput.
Responsibilities include optimizing systems using pprof and tracer, maintaining support for OpenRTB and VAST protocols, and integrating services with Kafka pipelines.
The engineer will work closely with Platform Engineers to ensure application behavior aligns with infrastructure capabilities and implement reliability patterns to maintain uptime during traffic surges.
The position requires taking end-to-end responsibility for services, from initial design through deployment to Kubernetes (EKS) and production monitoring.
The role also includes leading design reviews, providing feedback on system architecture, and mentoring team members on Go best practices and distributed systems.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience building high-scale services in Go, with a deep understanding of Go internals such as garbage collection, scheduling, and memory management.
A proven track record of operating distributed systems handling over 100,000 requests per second is required.
Mastery of goroutines, channels, and synchronization primitives is essential.
Experience with OpenRTB, VAST, or similar programmatic advertising technologies is preferred.
Practical experience running and debugging services in Kubernetes and AWS environments is necessary.
A pragmatic mindset valuing simple, effective solutions over over-engineered abstractions is expected.
