Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• DomainTools is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join their Engineering Team.
• This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver with deep expertise in large-scale data engineering and a passion for technical leadership and continuous improvement.
• The engineer will be a key technical collaborator, responsible for designing and maintaining complex systems, accelerating engineering productivity, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Responsibilities include designing, coding, and maintaining web-scale data systems, discovering and validating new data sets, and employing cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
• The engineer will provide code reviews, design feedback, demos, technical requirements, and documentation.
• They will also provide accurate estimates for project scope, time, capacity, and costs.
• The role involves improving coworker productivity, reducing operational toil, and increasing consistency.
• Technical leadership and mentoring of junior engineers are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of professional development experience with Python, GoLang, Rust, or equivalent languages, with a strong emphasis on Rust and Python.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, is required.
• Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in web-scale data engineering, utilizing data stores such as OpenSearch, Postgres, CockroachDB, and Spark.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Kafka is necessary.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• A proven ability to coordinate effectively between multiple teams is required.
• Candidates should possess a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and enjoy collaborating and mentoring teammates.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are necessary.
