Remote Staff AI Engineer - AI Infrastructure & Agentic Platform

Description:

• ShiftKey is a healthcare workforce marketplace focused on connecting licensed professionals with healthcare facilities.
• The Staff AI Engineer will own the AI infrastructure layer, including the organizational knowledge platform and AI agent hosting in the cloud.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in production AI/LLM systems.
• Expertise in retrieval engineering, including hybrid search and re-ranking.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and multi-step reasoning.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript, with cloud AI platform experience (preferably AWS).
• Hands-on Terraform experience for infrastructure provisioning.
• Familiarity with production observability for AI systems and HIPAA data-handling requirements.
