As a Staff Engineer at Kin, you will develop products and features that make Kin operate.
The work environment includes Ruby on Rails, Typescript front-end, and PostgreSQL database, applying Agile methodologies.
You will collaborate with peers in Development, Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams.
As the technical lead, you will mentor team members and lead projects.
Daily tasks may include writing clean code, setting engineering standards, leading pair programming sessions, driving advanced design tasks, developing technical roadmaps, participating in daily stands and weekly retros, and working with various partners to implement scalable solutions.
Requirements:
You must have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
A minimum of 4+ years experience coding with Ruby on Rails and Typescript/Javascript is required.
You should have a strong understanding of SQL and RDBMS, with exposure to NoSQL.
Experience in designing and implementing scalable, API-first systems is necessary.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures is required.
Experience in big data engineering on AWS and/or DataBricks is a plus.
You must be able to articulate the value of technical investments.
The ability to operate with little-to-no technical guidance is essential.
Experience mentoring engineers is required.
You should be comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
A fast learner, ready to bring previous knowledge and continue developing, is necessary.
Location in Central or Eastern US time zones (CDT & EDT) is strongly preferred.
