Description:

  • As a Staff Engineer at Pearl Health, you will serve as a technical architect and strategic partner for your team and the entire system.
  • You will influence organizational direction by driving the design and execution of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Your expertise will ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and support the mission of transforming primary care delivery for patients.
  • You will model engineering excellence, set high technical standards, and make a long-term impact on healthcare.
  • Responsibilities include driving system design, partnering on architectural decisions, defining engineering standards, and making strategic trade-offs.
  • You will design and build high-performance, distributed systems, ensuring observability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and design leadership to align engineering decisions with company priorities.
  • Mentor engineers and foster a strong engineering culture focused on continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Own and drive multi-quarter technical projects, balancing speed and quality while measuring the business impact of technical work.

Requirements:

  • You must have 8-12 years of experience in backend or full-stack software development, with a proven track record in service-oriented architectures and large data systems.
  • Demonstrated architectural experience in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures is required.
  • A strong leadership track record in driving technical direction for significant, cross-functional projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (preferably AWS) is necessary, including hands-on experience with infrastructure design and deployment pipelines.
  • You should have deep expertise in designing and optimizing data-intensive applications involving large-scale data movement and transformation.
  • Proven production operations experience in distributed systems, including observability and incident response, is required.
  • Experience in aligning technical decisions with business objectives and communicating complex trade-offs to stakeholders is essential.

Benefits:

  • The expected base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $215,000 per year.
  • This role is eligible for a discretionary performance bonus and equity options.
