Remote YouTrack Internal Automation Engineer

Description:

• JetBrains is seeking an Internal Automation Engineer to design and maintain automations for internal teams.
• The role involves writing and developing YouTrack workflows, integrating third-party services, and owning existing internal code.
• The engineer will help teams set up effective processes and be the go-to partner for internal stakeholders.
• Responsibilities include processing and triaging internal requests, designing and maintaining YouTrack workflows and apps, and helping teams adopt best practices.
• The engineer will own and maintain the codebase of existing automation and workflow modules, improving quality, observability, and performance.
• Gathering requirements from teams, mapping their needs into YouTrack’s capabilities, proposing architecture, and estimating trade-offs are also key tasks.
• Regular collaboration and communication with the development team is expected.
• Contributing to internal documentation, templates, best practices, and training on how to use YouTrack is part of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have solid knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• A strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns and their usages is required.
• Experience with version control systems like Git is necessary.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are needed to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to work independently is required.
• Candidates should be able to switch contexts efficiently and handle multiple requests throughout the day.
• Effective task prioritization skills are necessary.
