Remote AI / ML Engineer - Hourly Contract

Description:

• Seeking an experienced AI / ML Engineer for hourly contract work at Stevens, a strategic advisory and technology firm.
• Role involves designing and building production-grade AI and machine learning systems for enterprise clients, including LLM-powered applications and knowledge systems.

Requirements:

• Strong professional software engineering experience with a focus on production engineering.
• Proven experience in building and shipping AI, LLM, or machine learning systems in production.
• Proficient in Python and understanding of software architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with leading LLMs and foundation model platforms.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, semantic retrieval, and AI application behavior evaluation.
• Experience deploying production workloads in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a delivery pod.
• Must be located in the United States and authorized to work there.
