Remote Managing Architect (public sector)

Description:

• Aker Systems is seeking a Managing Architect with a passion for digital, data, and technology-led transformation.
• The role involves providing leadership throughout client engagements and unlocking innovation for clients.
• The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in the Public Sector, particularly Central Government, and understand their governance and security processes.
• A UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required; support will be provided for applicants without clearance who have lived and worked in the UK for at least 5 years.
• British citizenship is required due to the nature of the projects.
• The position is primarily focused on client delivery, management, and growth, with 90% of the time spent on client assignments.
• Responsibilities include serving as the Client CTO, leading architects and engineers, influencing through communication, building effective relationships, and contributing to the growth of Aker.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate must have experience as a lead or managing architect in designing and delivering platforms and managed services at enterprise scale, particularly bespoke software solutions.
• Experience in designing modern data platforms, including Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Data Lake, is essential.
• The candidate should have a background in solving enterprise data and analytics problems using technology.
• Hands-on experience with Public Cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google) and a DevOps-centric approach is required.
• Experience in sensitive data environments and interaction with cyber security specialists is preferred.
• Essential criteria include demonstrable experience in large-scale cloud migration projects, operating within multi-disciplined teams, designing event processing architectures, applying latest technologies for innovative solutions, and knowledge of cloud orchestration and containerization technologies.
• Understanding of NCSC Cloud Security Principles and their practical implementations is necessary.
