Remote Principal Software Engineer (Safeguards)

• We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who is passionate about ensuring software performs as expected and can quickly identify issues when it does not.
• The role involves ensuring that the properties of distributed systems are met in a way that allows developers to release code confidently without unexpected impacts on customers.
• Responsibilities include building systems for graduated availability of new code and content, enabling reproducibility of outcomes, creating frameworks for developers to write unit and integration tests, and facilitating content developers in deploying content efficiently.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience designing and shipping commercially available software products at scale that are well-received by customers.
• Experience in building and shipping self-service B2B SaaS products at scale is required.
• Expert knowledge of at least one major systems programming language is necessary.
• Candidates should have the ability to learn Typescript or Rust.
• Experience in shipping serverless software on AWS or having distributed systems experience is essential.
• Candidates must have experience working in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Comfort with remote, asynchronous, and independent work is required.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to maintain a quiet working environment are necessary.
• Fluency in technologies such as GitHub, AWS, GCP, Azure, Auth0, TypeScript, Angular, PrimeNG, Rust, GitHub Copilot, and Claude is required.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in the field is necessary.
• Candidates must be able to thrive in a fully remote organization.
