Description:

Helium Health is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (NodeJS) to develop and deliver applications for a technology-driven healthcare sector in Africa.
Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining backend services, developing RESTful APIs, and collaborating with various teams.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years in backend/software engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript; Python experience is a plus.
Experience with REST APIs, relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB), and AWS/cloud platforms.
Familiarity with microservices, CI/CD, Docker, and automated testing.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
