SEON is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build the core engine of their technical velocity, focusing on self-service tooling for product engineers.
The role involves treating infrastructure as a product and developers as customers, creating "Golden Paths" to facilitate rapid and secure code deployment.
The position offers flexibility, with a preference for candidates based in Budapest, Hungary, in a hybrid setting, or remote within the EU, including occasional travel to other offices.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing standardized templates for microservices, developing self-service tooling, maintaining Terraform modules, orchestrating CI/CD processes, automating governance, and ensuring observability for deployed services.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering, with a proven track record of building infrastructure and tools for engineers.
Strong coding skills are required, with proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Go or Python for automation and platform development.
Deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes is essential, including the ability to extend Kubernetes to enhance developer workflows.
Expert-level knowledge of Terraform is necessary, including the design of reusable module hierarchies and management of remote state strategies.
A strategic vision is required to balance standardization and developer autonomy in system design.
Experience in regulated environments, preferably in FinTech, is important, along with knowledge of DevSecOps and automation of compliance checks.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude are essential for bridging the gap between infrastructure and application development.

The position offers a flexible work environment, allowing for a hybrid setup in Budapest or a remote setup within the EU.
