The Senior Software Engineer will join the Platform team and lead initiatives that define the reliability, scalability, and observability of core APIs.
Responsibilities include scaling the public Content API, building customer-facing visibility into usage metrics, implementing API governance, and empowering product teams with AI infrastructure.
Technologies and tools used include Typescript (NodeJS), AWS, SST, Serverless architecture, PostgreSQL, LangGraph, Playwright, GitHub Actions, React, and Cursor / Claude Code.
Requirements:
Candidates should excel at architecting large-scale distributed systems and APIs that serve millions of requests daily with low latency and high reliability.
Deep experience with API gateways, rate limiting, quota enforcement, and fair usage controls is required.
Candidates must think ahead about scaling challenges such as multitenancy, regionalization, data boundaries, compliance, and graceful degradation.
A focus on observability is essential, with a design approach that includes clear metrics, traces, and logs from day one.
The ability to balance innovation with stability is necessary, introducing new abstractions or architectures without compromising uptime.
Candidates should be able to influence across squads, aligning product, infrastructure, and teams around clear trade-offs and durable standards.
Mentoring and building a culture of strong technical judgment among senior engineers is expected.
Hands-on experience is required for debugging complex distributed systems, tuning queries, or implementing critical changes.
Curiosity about how AI can augment engineering, including anomaly detection and adaptive scaling, is preferred.
Bonus points for a proven track record of leading infrastructure or platform-wide initiatives with measurable improvements in reliability, cost, or performance, and experience scaling multi-region, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
