Remote Senior Software Engineer - Platform Team

• The Senior Software Engineer will join the Platform team and lead initiatives that define the reliability, scalability, and observability of core APIs.
• Responsibilities include scaling the public Content API, building customer-facing visibility into usage metrics, implementing API governance, and empowering product teams with AI infrastructure.
• Technologies and tools used include Typescript (NodeJS), AWS, SST, Serverless architecture, PostgreSQL, LangGraph, Playwright, GitHub Actions, React, and Cursor / Claude Code.

Requirements:

• Candidates should excel at architecting large-scale distributed systems and APIs that serve millions of requests daily with low latency and high reliability.
• Deep experience with API gateways, rate limiting, quota enforcement, and fair usage controls is required.
• Candidates must think ahead about scaling challenges such as multitenancy, regionalization, data boundaries, compliance, and graceful degradation.
• A focus on observability is essential, with a design approach that includes clear metrics, traces, and logs from day one.
• The ability to balance innovation with stability is necessary, introducing new abstractions or architectures without compromising uptime.
• Candidates should be able to influence across squads, aligning product, infrastructure, and teams around clear trade-offs and durable standards.
• Mentoring and building a culture of strong technical judgment among senior engineers is expected.
• Hands-on experience is required for debugging complex distributed systems, tuning queries, or implementing critical changes.
• Curiosity about how AI can augment engineering, including anomaly detection and adaptive scaling, is preferred.
• Bonus points for a proven track record of leading infrastructure or platform-wide initiatives with measurable improvements in reliability, cost, or performance, and experience scaling multi-region, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
