Remote Software Enginer, Developer Experience

Description:

• Kustomer is hiring a Developer Experience Engineer to join the Foundation team.
• The role focuses on improving developer experience by identifying friction points, modernizing tools, and enabling engineers to work more effectively.
• This is a founding engineer role, meaning there is no existing playbook, and the individual will build this function from the ground up.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and deploying AI agents and automation to accelerate the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• The engineer will stay updated on AI and automation tooling, evaluating and incorporating innovative solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, reliability, and development velocity.
• The role involves partnering with engineers across teams to identify friction, design solutions, and promote best practices for AI-powered tools.
• AI is integral to the role, with daily use of AI tools to improve product delivery and customer experience.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a developer experience, developer tooling, or platform engineering role is required.
• Candidates must have experience evaluating, implementing, and advocating for AI developer tools to address complex engineering challenges.
• A minimum of 5 years of full-stack programming experience is necessary, with proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Go, Python, or JavaScript.
• The ability to identify systemic inefficiencies across engineering and product is essential.
• Experience with containers and deployment using ECS and Terraform is a significant advantage.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
