Remote Staff Backend Engineer, Gatekeeper

Description:

• Helius is building core infrastructure for Solana, enabling developers to create crypto-powered applications.
• The Staff Backend Engineer will own and evolve Gatekeeper, a high-performance edge gateway and middleware layer for Helius APIs.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in building and operating high-throughput backend systems (proxies, gateways, distributed services).
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TLS, TCP, connection reuse, proxies, load balancers).
• Strong performance engineering skills (profiling, benchmarking, latency/throughput tradeoffs).
• Proven track record of leading cross-team projects and shipping durable systems.
• Experience with operational excellence and on-call responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills for writing design docs and aligning stakeholders.
