Description:

  • The company is expanding its ecosystem, which includes over a dozen sports verticals and hundreds of streaming partners.
  • The Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be a technical leader on a senior team, driving architecture, reliability, and developer enablement strategy.
  • The role emphasizes high-impact individual contributions, technical leadership, and collaboration with other engineers to set the technical direction for the organization.
  • The SRE team operates with a philosophy of shared stability responsibility and simplicity, focusing on automating toil and solving problems with software.
  • Responsibilities include leading the migration from a legacy GCP environment to AWS EKS, architecting core infrastructure, championing SLO-driven culture, developing tooling in Node.js and Go, and acting as a subject matter expert for Istio service mesh.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8-10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Software Engineering, with a proven track record at a Staff level.
  • Proven technical leadership is required, including mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
  • Candidates should be expert coders with deep expertise in languages like Node.js or Go, and a history of building and maintaining critical automation and services.
  • An expert-level understanding of Kubernetes, particularly EKS, is necessary, including networking and control plane optimization.
  • Candidates must be Terraform experts, having designed and implemented large-scale, reusable, and secure Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
  • Experience in designing and implementing observability strategies using platforms like Datadog is required.
  • Candidates should have experience in designing, building, and scaling complex CI/CD systems, ideally with GitHub Actions.
  • Strong systems thinking skills are essential, with the ability to decompose complex problems into solvable parts.
