Remote Backend Engineer - Money

Description:

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers, and payments.
• Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation to production, ensuring quality with unit and integration tests.
• Follow strict money handling rules and assist with integrations with banks and payment partners.
• Participate in code reviews, investigate bugs, and document technical work.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional backend engineering, with production services.
• Languages: Proficient in Java, Go, or another modern backend language.
• Fundamentals: Understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, SQL, and basic concurrency.
• Data & Messaging: Knowledge of transactions, caching (Redis), and messaging (Kafka).
• Tools: Familiarity with Git, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
• Mindset: Careful, curious, eager to learn, with clear communication; experience in regulated environments is a plus.
