Remote Senior Backend Engineer I - Platform

Description:

• Build and maintain shared backend services and APIs for Ajaib products.
• Deliver features from design to production with tests, monitoring, and alerting.
• Ensure APIs are stable, backward compatible, and communicate changes effectively.
• Develop secure services to protect user identity and data.
• Write clear documentation for ease of use by other engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and write clean, well-tested code.
• Investigate production issues and implement lasting fixes.
• Collaborate with product teams, Security, and Infrastructure for reliable solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Proficient in Java, Go, or another modern backend language.
• Understanding of microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and event-driven design.
• Experience with relational databases, caching (Redis), and messaging (Kafka).
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT) and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), containers, and CI/CD.
• Ownership mindset with clear communication skills; fintech experience is a plus.
