Remote Senior Backend Engineer: Offsite Search Optimisation

Description:

• Join Constructor, a next-generation ecommerce search and discovery platform focused on optimizing revenue, conversion rates, and profit.
• Work with an in-house built search engine utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, powering over 1 billion queries daily across 150 languages.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in building and owning production backend services in Python.
• Proficient in SQL and comfortable with data-heavy systems (analytics, metrics, logging).
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging user-facing systems.
• Ability to deliver maintainable software (tests, code review, incremental delivery).
• Nice to have: Knowledge of SEO, experience with APIs & auth, working with non-structured data, building data integrations, and understanding ETL/ELT workflows on PySpark.
