Description:

SmartCommerce is seeking a Senior Software Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems for their commerce platform.
The role involves backend engineering, data engineering, and stream processing, serving as a senior technical contributor and production support owner.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend, database, and data processing systems.
Proficiency in PHP, Node.js, and React.js; experience with MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Airflow, and AWS.
Familiarity with AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, etc.) and optional experience with Apache Spark, Python, and Databricks.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to pass a background check.

Competitive salary range of $160-$180K.
