Remote Staff Backend Engineer

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, focusing on building reliable and scalable SaaS software solutions.
• A deep understanding of AI & ML technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, and agentic AI frameworks is required.
• Strong experience in building and maintaining applications using Python and a major web framework, preferably Django.
• Experience leading large technical projects and advising leadership on critical technical considerations is essential.
• Extensive experience mentoring engineers and providing technical feedback to peers is necessary.
• Candidates should have experience with relational databases, including schema design and query optimization, and a solid understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
• Candidates must demonstrate empathy and accountability, acting with compassion and effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A professional and current LinkedIn profile is required, updated upon joining Procurify.

• The base salary range for this position is $146,000 - $176,000 CAD, depending on experience, excluding bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity.
