Remote Technical Lead (GovCon | Public Trust Eligibility)

Description:

• Lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise software systems for federal missions.
• Drive engineering efforts across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment.
• Build scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications using modern engineering best practices.
• Architect and develop APIs using REST and GraphQL.
• Lead system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams for integrated solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex application and system performance issues.
• Contribute to cloud modernization and platform engineering improvements.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish engineering standards.
• Translate business and mission requirements into technical strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, including enterprise application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, OpenJDK, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, and REST APIs.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and scalable applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and engineering best practices.
• Experience building cloud-native applications in AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps workflows.
• Knowledge of secure software development principles and API security.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems and performance tuning.
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
